Again, spot on analysis of the hopelessness - over generations - of Irish infrastructure planning/politics. So mediocre are our politicians/planners that pretty much anything to do w population growth - housing, education, health care, pensions & even immigration is beyond them.

Why isn't this top of all the news bulletins? Is the corporate media downplaying a story which would weaken the "side" they are supporting in the pay battle? Or do they just consider this to be "normal" at this stage and not big news? irishtimes.com/business/2024/…

Enough is enough. The resolution to this dispute is a meaningful pay increase inline with inflation. Pilots deserve to protect their pay. #StrongerTogether

Aerlingus chief executive Lynne Embleton received almost €300,000 worth of shares in IAG as part of a bonus scheme in the last few days as the Aerlingus Pilots strike for pay increases to match inflation. @bridsmithTD #Aerlingus

Pilots have the right to protect their pay. #StrongerTogether

IALPA President Capt Mark Tighe on the way into meetings with the Labour Court says the pilots were willing to move on their demands, and claims Aer Lingus have, so far, yet to do so.

@AerLingus is making bumper profits and punching well above their weight with the 4th biggest network between the EU and US. Executive management pay package increased by 66% from 2019 to 2024. It’s time to increase your pilots pay! 2 years talking, Deal now! @eu_cockpit @IFALPA

Thank you @davidmcw for a very insightful article. It would be great if you discussed the wider issues on one of your upcoming podcasts!!

We offer unwavering @ALPAPilots support to @IALPA Aer Lingus pilots as they continue fighting for a new agreement with a notoriously anti-union airline. @AerLingus management needs to reach a fair and equitable agreement with them now! bit.ly/3XDCdKT #StrongerTogether

We had hoped the company would come to their senses but they haven’t. All that is left for the pilots is to express their rights is to take this route. #StrongerTogether #PilotUnity .

Aer Lingus pilots are looking for improvments to their terms and conditions. After negotiating for months it is more than reasonable to expect @AerLingus management to listen to their pilots and deliver to the table a proper deal.

Aer Lingus pilots begin work to rule from next Wednesday. Indefinitely. Pay claim is for 24%, which equates to inflation since last pay rise in 2019. While @AerLingus increased profits by 400% to €255 million last year. @IALPA
