Hey everyone. @Astro_Doug was, and is, one awesome space explorer. From his 1st flight here, he not only piloted the very last mission of a U.S. Space Shuttle, but also flew the very 1st flight of Crew Dragon. That doesn't happen by chance!
STS-127. Hard to put into words what my first flight into space was like and how hard we worked for 16 days. Incredible! Special thanks to @Astro_127! I couldn’t have asked for a better person to lead our flight.
Moi aussi!
Il y a 15 ans… décollage d’Endeavour mission STS-127 avec notre ami @Astro_127 Quel souvenir !😍 Miss you my friend (📷 MAS)
#OTD 15 years ago ✨ STS-127 launched on July 15, 2009, with ASE members Thomas Marshburn, Christopher Cassidy, Timothy Kopra, @Astro_Payette, @Astro_Doug, and @Astro_127 aboard!
Thanks for remembering!
#HappyBirthday to ASE Life Member @Astro_127, who flew to space three times between 2001 and 2009 (STS-98, STS-116, and STS-127) as part of trips to the @Space_Station!
It's #MemorialDay. Today, we honor those who laid down their lives while serving in the armed forces of the United States, as well as their families. We owe you a debt that can never be repaid.
What a great, fun event! Thanks to everyone at @LifeAtPurdue and @IMS
Last month, @PurdueAeroAstro alumni astronauts Sirisha Bandla, Beth Moses, Mark Polansky and Audrey Powers and CS alum Drew Feustel shared their experiences in a special #ThisIsPurdue episode, filmed at IMS during the #Purdue-NASA eclipse event. stories.purdue.edu/podcast/purdue…
What an amazing day and venue. Many thanks to @LifeAtPurdue and @IMS !!
Happy #TotalSolarEclipse Day! In Indianapolis, ASE members @Astro_Feustel and @Astro_127 joined suborbital astronauts @SirishaBandla, @VGChiefTrainer, and @AudreyKPowers for a @LifeAtPurdue #CradleOfAstronauts panel at @IMS! #Eclipse2024
I posted yesterday about #VeteransDay in the U.S. While yesterday was the federal holiday observing this, today, November 11th is the actual #VeteransDay. So once again, thanks and a salute to all who served!
Thanks for the reminder. Hard to believe it's been 14 years. Feels like it was yesterday. Belated Happy Anniversary to Doug, Chris, Julie, Dave, Tom, and Tim!

For those who get to enjoy their #MemorialDay2023 holiday in the U.S. today, please take a moment to remember that today's holiday honors those who sacrificed their lives while serving in the Armed Forces of our great nation. We are forever in their debt.

The lore from the Kaimuki side of my family tree is that 81 years ago cousin Rudy was out clamming by Pearl Harbor when the bombs started falling so he ditched his clams and worked the recovery effort, pocketed some shrapnel, and years later had it mounted.
Shout out to all who serve and have served in the Armed Forces of the United States. Thank you, and Happy Veteran's Day!
Which then turned into STS-127, a flight I may know a thing or two about! @NASASpaceflight
Close up and personal. Shuttle Endeavour sat on KSC 39B preparing for her STS-400 rescue role in support of Atlantis (STS-125 to Hubble). Pics from a United Space Alliance friend. #ShuttleSunday
