Now on Bluesky- MissDemeanor1 come join… only if you are kind though 🫣

My husband woke up to 3 pieces of information this morning- - Trump won - I got zero sleep - Toilet seat is broken I’m not shocked he just rolled over

As someone watching on from the UK it is alarming that media outlets call each state rather than our lovely tidy process of a returning officer who has counted & can verify each result before announcing

Just had my first Halloween Rhymers at the door, they had wonderful costumes & the best part I actually had sweets (parents got too, it’s only fair)

This Labour Government would do well to go back to the UN’s sustainability goals as their basis for how they do government- it’s super clear when reading them what the pinch points are in our society & what needs addressing

I have never been asked if I wanted my healthcare privatised & yet the 2 biggest English parties have been doing exactly that for the last 2 decades. #Labour you want privatised healthcare- hold a referendum on it & see what the people say!

Dear Keir Starmer, The public has never been asked about privatising the NHS, let alone given its permission. All evidence is that NHS privatisations is more expensive and has poorer outcomes for patients. Where is your voter mandate for doing what you are doing?

Finnish Anders Wiklöf was fined £106,000 for driving 20mph over the speed limit because Finland has % wealth fines. The UK needs the same.

"And Brexit was just an argument with Cameron that he had to win" - Yup. All this. All this mess and economic damage because he was jealous of a rival doing better than he did. It sums up Johnson entirely.

Wes Streeting, the reform our NHS needs is *reinstatement as a fully PUBLIC service* If the new government cares about our NHS it will 🏥INSOURCE all NHS contracts (saving £10 million a week - enough to build a new operating theatre) 🏥END wasteful PFI

Anyone under any illusion that private healthcare will be “just as good” as the NHS should watch the American series The Resident (S1 Ep3) or chat with any Irish people that know about the system there. The NHS is broken because of cruel politicians NOT because of medical staff

Laura Kuenssberg is paid £325,000 - £329,999. Retweet if you think she is overpaid.

Free at the point of use and funded with public money is the cheapest and most efficient way of providing healthcare. When people say we can't afford the NHS, what they're saying is the poor shouldn't get healthcare.

When people realise that there are options beyond Labour and the Tories, things will get a lot better.

"When politicians and private healthcare industry lobbyists claim that we cannot afford the NHS, this is the exact inversion of the truth. We cannot afford not to have the NHS” - Stephen Hawking, keynote speech at the Royal Society of Medicine, 19 August 2017

Keir Starmer will say the NHS must "reform or die" today. What he is really saying is that to balance Rachel Reeves' books, you might die because he's not willing to raise the funds to deliver the NHS this country needs. How does it feel to be a human sacrifice to austerity?

It’s worth remembering that Labour MPs voting to take £300 away from pensioners this winter can each claim up to £3,400 towards their own heating costs.
