Don't have a ton of answers yet but orgs need to focus on leading at a time where there is a vacuum and the right is leading all of our conversations locally. Our ideas are popular. Our solutions are long term. We believe a better world is possible. We need to act like it.

The most insidious consequence of colonialism is how it captured our imaginations. It’s hard to think of good governance outside of “democracy” or economic prosperity outside of “capitalism.” We have to unlearn these paradigms & reclaim different ways of being in the world.
Your mayor is afraid of actually challenging the police. They’ll disagree in some speeches, maybe, but the police run the show. The police really have the electeds shook. The police unions play dirty politics and it scares the electeds into submission.
It is wild the degree to which every single institution in this country has been transformed into a private equity firm over the past 50 years.
