Tropical Storm Sara has formed in the western Caribbean and will slowly move west then northwest. It will move into the Gulf of Mexico next week as a weaker system. I'm tracking the longer range possibilities next week live on Channel 2.

8:05 AM CDT Monday Update: Milton rapidly intensifies into a category 4 hurricane. The maximum sustained winds have now increased to 150 mph (240 km/h) and the minimum pressure has fallen to 940 mb.

The Hurricane Warning has been expanded northward and now include Spalding, Butts, Jasper, Pike, Lamar, and Upson Counties in our area, and points south. Hurricane force winds possible there, tropical storm force winds are expected in metro Atlanta with 70 mph+ gusts possible.
