Mmm… It looks like many (most?) successful startups on indie twitter are targeted at other startups. Is this the same concept as selling gold mining equipment during the gold rush?

I used to be pretty envious of graphics designers raking in high amounts of cash, while I as a developer was unable to afford food - even though I felt that my art required more skill and was more difficult.

Meanwhile, many parts of the former “third world” look like this. That’s why the terms first and third world are now obsolete. It’s all about the ascending world and the descending world.

This is an image from Oakland, California, a state of twice the wealth of Germany. I very much doubt you could find anywhere in Germany looking like this. The irony if being one of the wealthiest places on Earth while looking like the third world.

The Apple tax is more brutal than it seems: If you pay 50% on the remaining $5.60, you have $2.80 left. So, it’s closer to an additional tax rate of 43% than a 30% cut.

if Twitter starts charging $8 per month, Apple is going to take $2.40 of that. very interested to see if Elon tries to find a way around that. he’s never been hit with the Apple tax before.
