Fourth year student of Archaeology and Celtic Civilisation at the University of Glasgow @UofGArchaeo @CelticGaelic

Spent a very worthwhile day at the 'From Scotland to the World: Repatriation and Museums' conference at Kelvinhall. Lots of great panelists and engaging discussions. Thanks to @copyrightcentre @hunterian @IAL_art_law for organising 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🌍 (My dissertation topic is brewing...)

My partner just did an impression of me by putting on a funny voice and saying "We're here for the history! Show us your old stones!!" and I've never before been so offended by something that is so accurate 😅

Following a visit to @McrMuseum, I'd be interested to hear Archaeology Twitter's thoughts on the displaying of human remains. Worthwhile for public engagement and education, or disrespectful towards the deceased? Both reasonable arguments, but does one outweigh the other?

A small selection of Memento Mori from a recent trip to Edinburgh 💀 Is it strange to find them comforting rather than creepy?

Today is the feast day of St Mungo (or St Kentigern), the patron saint of Glasgow. Mungo is thought to have died at the age of 95 or 96 #OnThisDay in 614 and was buried on the site of Glasgow Cathedral, where this stained glass depiction can be found.

This is a nice read. It's usually the simpler texts/artefacts that resonate with me rather than the grand and monumental. They tell a more relatable human story. We are all just people, and we all like a warm pair of socks in a cold British winter 😊 theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Happy Birthday, @UofGlasgow! 🥳

573 years old today! 🙌 Happy birthday to us. 🎉 On 7 January 1451, Pope Nicholas V issued the Papal Bull, making UofG the fourth oldest university in the UK. Here's to the next 573+! #TeamUofG

Spent three days volunteering at the @2019Banea conference hosted at @UofGlasgow Grateful for the opportunity to see what an archaeology conference looks like, attend some really interesting lectures, and meet academics and fellow students. Thanks @neilerskine for organising

What a year 2023 was! I've been on digs that have discovered the Glencoe coin hoard, excavated an Iron Age hillfort, and uncovered prehistoric rock art. I've visited Viking ships, Scottish castles, and Roman forts. And still found time to study! I wonder what 2024 will bring?

Currently enjoying a Bailey's hot chocolate in my new mug! What archaeology-themed presents did Santa bring for you this Christmas?
