There’s more than 100.000 private tutors in the UK. But there’s no legal obligation on them to undergo any background checks. When will children taught in the home get the same protection as they do in the classroom? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

It is in effect a dating site for suicide. Hear the stories of those left behind. The parents who blame the site for encouraging and promoting their children to take their own lives. What then are the authorities planning to do about it? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

'Sextortion guides' sold on social media, BBC finds. It’s a really tough conversation but if you have boys it’s one you’ve got to have. Tell them about the dangers of sextortion. That girl they’ve never met, who sends a friend request? Stop and think. bbc.com/news/articles/…

Read this. Please. It’s not just a one off story about a horrible incident. It shines a light on some of the realities of the gig economy.

Probation mistake 'signed my daughter’s death warrant' - Please don’t look away. Domestic abuse is so often a hidden problem but is probably happening in your street, right now. The question is are the authorities equipped to protect the victims? bbc.co.uk/news/uk-686267…

It really is a shocking story on its own. But it also raises some questions about the gig economy. Food Delivery Apps don’t employ their riders. The law says they are self employed, independent contractors. Which is fine. But what happens if something goes badly wrong?

NEW from @AngusCrawfordR4 and I. The extraordinary story of a pizza, a Deliveroo rider and a severed thumb. bbc.co.uk/news/uk-685584…

Agree. Hugely misleading from @CommonsPACAC @Meg_HillierMP The forum in question voluntarily made some small changes to UK access after a BBC News investigation. They then reversed those changes two days later - leaving it freely available to anyone, including children.

The first para of today’s @CommonsPACAC report into implementation of the #OnlineSafetyAct wrongly claims that @Ofcom helped blocked a suicide forum linked to numerous UK deaths - it’s sadly inaccurate as the website was freely available again within 48 hours @Meg_HillierMP

Today’s story - two extraordinary people come together. Always a pleasure catching up with Ian Russell, but this conversation was very special @mollyroseorg bbc.co.uk/news/uk-683091…

Where regulation fails litigation takes its place. A really significant court ruling in the US last week means hundreds of families can move forward and sue Big Tech. If they win, the floodgates could open. But remember that behind every case is a story of harm, pain and loss.
