Tale as old as time…

Today’s news story from @kim_siever Last month, Alberta full-time jobs went to men, part-time jobs to women albertaworker.ca/news/in-oct-20…

The gap between the rich and the poor is getting wider, and it’s worse in Alberta. Time for the UCP to stop punching down and start governing for all Albertans. #AbLeg

This kind of flip flop reveals bad judgement at best: deciding to attack the very kids she once cried about, for her own political interest, reveals profound immorality.

Another terrible report card paints affordability challenges here in Alberta. Since the UCP government came to power (2019), the number of Calgarians visiting Calgary foodbank for basic food has increased mote more than twice. Life is not affordable and Albertans deserve…

Madu calls the Police Chief about his traffic ticket while serving as Minister in charge of both police and legal system. The Law Society (rightly) finds this problematic. Suddenly the UCP need to “review” the Law Society to protect lawyers “freedoms of expression.” 🧐 #AbLeg

Today, thousands of Albertans came out in force to tell the UCP government that the way they treat workers is unacceptable. Everyone should be able to make a decent living. Education in our province continues to be underfunded by the UCP government, and Alberta is the last in…

Thousands and thousands of workers united in the fight for better for all. This is the province I love. Solidarity forever. 💜✊ #ableg

Happy Catholic Education Week! Thank you to all the educators in our public, Catholic, and Francophone schools who are working under enormous pressure in the lowest funded education system in the country. @ACSTANews #blueforcatholiced

The UCPs decision to fund education at the lowest level in the country is having major consequences.

#BREAKING The superintendent of Edmonton Public Schools, through tears, just announced EPSB is seeking a Disputes Inquiry Board appointment, with a support staff strike looming Thursday. This could force workers to keep working, like happened in Fort Mac last month. #ableg #yeg

We need to ask why the UCP wants to add barriers to education about our bodies, consent, and heathy relationships. Why aren’t they standing up for good quality information that we know lowers teen pregnancy rates, lowers STI rates, and delays timing for first sexual encounters?

Alberta should be an energy powerhouse. So why is the UCP bringing in different rules for different types of energy? Why are they suppressing select energy development? Alberta government proposing additional restrictions on wind and solar energy cbc.ca/news/canada/ca…

94% of Education Assistants are women. The average EA wage is $26,000/yr. A living wage in Alberta is $45,000. When will we start properly valuing the work these women do with complex kids in the classroom? When will the UCP step up to properly fund these workers?

Nearly 1 in 5 Albertans don’t have a family doctor. Team care is the best way to deliver primary care. When more people get access to primary care, they get the right provider for their needs, they get high quality care, and they save the system money. On Friday, 13 Alberta NDP…

Only the UCP could look at a population predicted to increase significantly, add a program specifically designed to increase the population faster, then be all “what?!? How could we possibly have imagined the population would increase and we’d need more schools?” Poor planning.…

TLDR: the UCPs failure to properly plan means Albertans will add $6.5 billion in new debt. Alberta’s 'borrow and lease' school construction program reflects lack of long-term planning calgaryherald.com/opinion/albert… via @calgaryherald

It’s almost like the transit experts planning the Green Line were thinking about how to provide transit where people actually live.

This post is unavailable.

“The Minister should have known this.” Indeed. Why is the Minister being so willfully ignorant of the many existing engineering studies done on the Green Line?

There’s an awful lot of misinformation being spread about the Green Line, so let me lay things out clearly. I know a few critics of this project who could use a refresher.
