It's that time of the year again when all the annual journals turn up! The SMC journal is always a good read - and this year we get a brief mention in @simrich99 article about climbing with Catherine Destivelle

Had a fascinating tour of @mtn_heritage as part of @thealpineclub Blencathra weekend. A wonderful collection that's well worth a visit if you're researching mountaineering history.

Today's @artukdotorg #onlineartexchange is spooky art And we have ... nothing. So enjoy this tranquil painting of the Chateau de Chillon - haunted by François Bonivard, a 16thC monk who was imprisoned in the castle and inspired Byron to write a terrifying 392 line poem.

Having to use the big table for today's research requests - a jacket worn by Frank Smythe on #Everest in the 1930s and a tent from Everest 1953

This week's @artukdotorg #OnlineArtExchange theme is women artists for @BarberInstitute’s Women in Power: Coins from the Barber Collection. This is The Fee Glacier and Alphubel by Hilda Marion Hechle, a member of the Ladies Alpine Club who climbed in the Alps in the early 1900s

Today's @artukdotorg's #OnlineArtExchange celebrates painted portraits for The Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award at @NPGLondon We've chosen this 1956 portrait of Douglas Busk by B. Busk - which oversees the library that The Times described as 'his greatest work'.

If you saw our Everest 1924 exhibition then this is the perfect compliment to it - and if you didn't then it's a perfect opportunity to learn about one of the lesser known expedition members!

Bentley Beetham took many of the most iconic images of the 1924 #Everest Expedition. Next Tuesday, Stephen Livingstone joins us to discuss Beetham and to recreate the slide show he gave every year following the expedition. Join us then ➡️ tinyurl.com/yy59cxs8

This week's #OnlineArtExchange theme is family and domestic interiors. We've managed one of these- this sketch from Henry Willink's watercolour album of his honeymoon trip through Europe in 1880. Note how Willink and his wife's (MGW) legs lean towards each other! @artukdotorg
