Therapy is expensive, stigma, fear, shame, lack of effective referrals Support them by showing them love and care, reassure and affirm them, build trust with them, create healthy boundaries #gylp #WMHD2022
Stigma makes it hard for people to ask for help and also the cost of treatment prohibit alot of people from seeking help. There are also limited facilities that can handle mental health issues.
Inadequate & inaccessible mental health treatment centers. Psychiatrists are few, medication out of reach for many, then top it all stigma not only to the affected but family & friends too. 😔 In Kenya we need a mental health treatment facility in every County for a start.
Negative people like judging hence creating a barrier for people affected to opem up or seek help
