A desperate attempt by the UK Spirits Alliance to push for a cut to alcohol duty, by claiming it would be unfair on women What is definitely unfair is that deaths from alcohol among women have increased by a huge 91% from 2001-2022 Cutting duty increases consumption and deaths

The UK’s disproportionate alcohol duty system is pricing women out of pubs, with 65% now saying they use Britain’s hospitality venues less due to higher prices. To tackle this, the government must #BackSpirits and reverse last year’s disastrous duty hike. inews.co.uk/news/politics/…
