Today is the Feast of St. Jacinta This well-known emoji is known as the look of disapproval: ಠ_ಠ But for us Catholics, it's St. Jacinta.

Priest: "Remember that you are but dust, and to dust you shall return." Little kid: "What is butt dust?"

Hey PETA! I❤️ animals too. They're delicious.

A parishioner has two tickets for the Super Bowl. Paid $9500. He didn't realize at the time it was the same day as his wedding—and wants someone to take his place. It's at St. Thomas at 1pm. Bride's name is Maura, 5'5" and a good cook. She'll be the one in the white dress.

"...the Bible is so boring..." (@joechristianguy)

It's the year 2024 AD. This is why.

A little hard to read, but a nice cartoon.

Girl reading from a bible written in the language of Gen Z. The Bible is sacred. Dumbing down its language doesn't make it more readable, it just makes us respect it less.

Today is the feast day of St. Anthony the Abbot, one of the patron saints of animals. A pious legend holds that on the night of his feast animals are able to speak. I don't know what this cat will say tonight, but I'll bet it includes the words "Blessed are you among women.."

Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. On Good Friday 1963, he was in jail and wrote his famous "Letter from a Birmingham Jail." While Baptist, King was influenced by Catholic social teaching, and the letter cites the teaching of both St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Augustine.

The black shapes are just shadows. The small white lines are the actual camels. Today is the Epiphany of the Lord. Before the arrival of the Magi, only Jews had found their way to Bethlehem. The Magi represent the revelation of the Messiah to all the peoples of the world.

The emergency phone rang at 3:24am. My heart started pounding–was someone dying? I nervously picked up the phone and...the caller asked for the Sunday Mass schedule. I've had other "emergency" calls asking if the gift shop was open. Please don't abuse the emergency phone.

I did a baptism yesterday. It must be so strange to be a baby. One moment you fall asleep in a small crib surrounded by your stuffed animals. The next you wake up in a huge church with some guy pouring water on your head.

An old man stood in the middle of a busy NYC street, blocking traffic. Then I saw he was blocking traffic to allow an even more elderly man, using a walker, to cross. I went over and thanked him. He was retired USMC. Semper Fidelis. May we all remain faithful to the end.

Powerful cartoon that shows the evil of addiction without saying a single word. (Film Bilder)

Man spots a lost sheep in the wilderness. His two border collies rescue the sheep. "Which of you men...wouldn't leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?" (Luke 15:4)

This kitten must have had a guardian angel.
