“It’s Ruined My Life”. The words of Debbie Clack who lost her daughter, Christmas 2021, due to a drink driver. DON’T DRINK/DRUG DRIVE #OpLimit2 #VisionZero @metpoliceuk @ProjectEdward @RoadPeace

Being a #FLO often means that dreaded knock at the door & this time of year it’s always harder. Adults thinking it’s relatives, children thinking it’s Santa 🎅🏻 You knock knowing that what you’re going to tell them will change their lives forever 🚔 #DontDrinkAndDrive

Driver thought this was ok and fully secure. Well it isn't, cant just rely on the chains in this situation. vehicle prohibited PG9 until another truck arrived, and driver fined. #CVU #Saferroads. At least he had dust sheets on 🤷‍♂️

Out of force today and on my way to court in a town by the seaside. Waiting for the traffic lights to change & this caught my eye. The driver received a prohibition & will need to get a new MoT. See tyresafe.org/condition/ for @tyresafe advice.

Last 2 nights have seen me working back on team again doing response policing. Last night we dealt with a person experiencing mental ill health with @Ldn_Ambulance With good team work we were able to get the person to a hospital to be seen by professionals #TeamGreenAndBlue

As someone who has a specialist posting in traffic you can be quite removed from the realities of everyday response policing. 3 days this week I’ve worked on ‘team’ on a BCU. So much demand, but the teams worked hard from start to finish. I’ve a new found respect for them.

A nice evening for some two wheeled patrol activity.

The first of 7 nights started last night . We’ll be out and about across the metropolis supporting our roads policing colleagues over the week.

Worth a read if you’ve got a view or do not fully understand police misconduct.

I haven’t seen the letter and would not comment on that. But just a few points that arise from the BBC article on police misconduct. /1

I’m in my happy place when I’m out patrolling on the bike. This is my 4th and final day this week out on our drink and drug drive operation. Capped it off arresting another drug driver following a positive drug wipe #Fatal5

Late turn traffic patrols in south west London. 1 motorcycle prohibited for various defects including a temp exhaust fix with plastic cables ties 🤦‍♂️ and my 3rd drug driving arrest this week on the Christmas drink and drug operation.

“I try and find an offence on the vehicle before I pull it over,” says Acting Sergeant Marc Taraso of Ontario’s Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS). 👆Absolutely agree. Target the obvious risks, some may be a discussion point, but others may require more formal action.

Some of our HRPS Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspectors recently had the opportunity to be interviewed for an article in trucknews.com 👏👏check out the article here trucknews.com/transportation… ^DB

Another late turn out and about and another drug driver in custody. Easy to spot when they’re riding in excess of the speed limit with a very loud after market exhaust #Fatal5 At least I’ll become competent using our new computer system 🤯.
