We spend a lot of money on players from teams like Cremonense, hoping that they’ll improve in a team that ‘dominates’ possession. We don’t sign hungry players from our league such as shankland and Ferguson because they’re ‘not good enough’, snobbery is unreal.
Beale seems to have overcompensated for “unfit” players under Gio. We have so many new signings including a completely new front 3 and needed to do a lot more ball work. Going into friendlies leggy wasn’t good and meant we didn’t see shape, positional benefits from those games.

Would love to see the distances run by both teams tonight. Can forgive the huge gap in class but not the huge gap in effort.
Our shape when we lose the ball is frightening. Players miles out of position leaving huge gaps. That’s all from the quality of coaching. Every team in modern football practices transitions day in day out, we have no clue.
My issue isn’t that we are losing in the champions league, it is the manner of the defeat. Players chucking it is unacceptable. That said, the league is most important, team mentality has to be win at all costs in all games before the World Cup.
There is no benefit for us as fans of being in the champions league. It didn’t mean we bought better players, the board robbed us blind for tickets and we are routinely pumped. Massively out our depth!
Do people genuinely believe we can compete with Liverpool? Completely out our depth in this group, it’s a different level from the Europa. I’d happily take domestic wins over champions league. Take the money and anything else is a bonus. Doesn’t make it easy to watch though.
