Qole-Hashmat Khan wetland in #Kabul has recieved significant amount of water from Logar River during the past 2 months as shown in the below animation. If the water inflow is ensured throughout the summer, there is good chance for revival this important habitat.

Qole Hashmat Khan wetland in #Kabul has received fresh water as a result of recent rainfalls. Once habitat for over 190 bird species, has recently dried due to poor management & prolonged droughts. 10ha of its land was grabed & turned into housing & its water was looted on d way.

🇦🇫 wheat yield reached 5.17 million tons in 2023. This is about 0.67 million tons more than average. 2 reasons led to this: better distribution of rainfall & ban on poppy. In 2024, it may increase further due to rainfall & will become closer to the demand level of 6 million tons.
