Our Sub-Committee on the Overseas Territories has published a letter on the Chagos Islands. It calls on the Govt to run a pilot resettlement programme and ensure the continued operation of the base at Diego Garcia, which plays a fundamental role in global security.
Good thread. And some analysts and parliamentarians in the UK *still* insist that Mauritius might give *China* a base in the Chagos Islands if London hands over that archipelago. So wrong. If anything, Mauritius is aligned with India, the US, and UK - not China.
