I hesitate to recommend a book I haven’t read for decades but this takes you to a different, jaw dropping world. Reader discretion advised

Anyone? (Can anyone still see our tweets?)

Beginning to get excited about this. Will I have new fakes and forgeries to expose this year? Of course I will

On my desk right now for cataloguing

One of the rarest 16th century binding styles: pierced vellum. Moritz of Hesse-Cassel's Davidis regii prophetae Psalterium, Schmalkalden 1590. Binding (likely by Hans Bapest von Erfurt) of vellum decorated in silver, and pierced to reveal contrasting green & red silk underlays.

Really enjoyable first visit to Chawton to hand this copy over. Perfect setting to inspire interest in Jane Austen and many other great female authors. So glad the public will have access to this amazing copy - one of my favourite books we’ve ever sold @PHrarebooks

Delighted with the coverage in today’s @guardian sharing the wonderful news about Anne Sharp’s copy of Emma coming to Chawton House! theguardian.com/books/2022/oct…

I had a hand in getting Oliver his apprenticeship. Amused to read that neither he nor I quite know how or why. Very funny book. Thank you @pew_literary for my advance copy
