Here's our statement on the results of the 2024 presidential election:
Lake Mills residents voted in favor of both school referendums. The first question dealing with general maintenance, safety and updates won with 54.7% of votes. The second question for building a new HS gym won with 51.7% of votes.
Lake Mills residents voted against the Sandy Beach restaurant advisory referendum: with 60.5% voting no. It is still up to the city council to decide if they will spend over $3 million on a new restaurant. The council is set to decide in the next few weeks.
Assembly District 46: Joan Fitzgerald winning 52.4% of the votes, just under 5 points above Jenifer Quimby’s 47.6%.

At the Obama-Walz event, Congressman Mark Pocan just asked the crowd what Donald Trump and a pumpkin have in common: “They’re both orange on the outside, hollow on the inside, and should probably be tossed out by early November.” This was met by many laughs from the crowd.
