A massive thank you to @WLStraughan and @Greenleafrecycl for their generous donation of two dumpy bags of compost. It will make a huge difference to our school allotment and the children have already been busy potting on and improving our vegetable beds with the compost Thanks!
Today we say goodbye to the ducklings 🐥 it’s been so much fun and it’s sad to say goodbye but we have many more animal surprises coming next term 🤩

TIMBERRRR!!!! Year 1 and 2 were very lucky to have a tree climbing and felling demonstration by @N_landCouncil Arborist team. As you can tell by the squeals they were impressed! 😀🌲
Year 3 adding the finishing touches to their wooden person project! They coppiced a tree, cut the body and head out with a bow saw, cut and split the arms and legs with loppers and a billhook and drilled the holes to attach the limbs. Amazing woodwork!! 🪵 #forestschool

This half term we are green woodworking going through the full process of coppicing a tree, sawing it to length, splitting using a froe, shaping a billet with a draw knife on the shave horse and then turning the billet on the pole lathe 🪵 🪚
