Academic peeps: I've lived through many disasters. Here is my advice on "productivity". First, play the long game. Your peers who are trying to work as normal right now are going to burn out fast. They're doomed. Make a plan with a longer vision. /1

I’m out because I’ve seen the results of being forced to hide. I’m out for those who couldn’t be, who can’t be. I’m out for my young patients so they can see that they can have a future. I’m out to pave the road for others. I’m out for them. I’m out for me. I’m out for all.

The medical community advocates for a diverse workforce that reflects the diverse patients it serves, but @KyleLeggott writes that the lack of info regarding #LGBTQ docs makes it hard to know how well this community is represented in #HealthCare. ow.ly/w8vn50yC1fN

@IAS_USA please make the #COVID2019 presentations available to all immediately, not next week - this is such a comprehensive, clear & informative session & of potential benefit to many, now #CROI2020 #virtualCROIQandA

Even if you aren’t at major risk if you contract Corona, realize from this how important preventing the spread of this disease is as some children don’t even have a home to keep them safe.

What is wrong with us??? “Officials in NYC said they would close public schools only as last resort, in part because about 114,000 students in school system are homeless and may have nowhere else to get hot meals, medical care or even a place to wash their dirty laundry” @nytimes

Important study of #transgender women and #CVD risk in people with #HIV. #Gender may be more important than #HIV status. Targeted risk reduction needed for this population! #virtualCROIQandA

Streaming a show while outlining a paper, the grad student is neither entertained nor productive.

So happy and so sad to have finished @LauraClery new book “Idiot”. It made me laugh, it made me sad, it gave me a deeper understanding of addiction, and it made me reflect on my own life choices. Thank you for this treasure. (If you haven’t read it y’all do it)

My sister and I were talking the other days and we’ve both decided adulthood is just learning to use humor to cope. Scathing email? Laugh. Rejected? Laugh. Having a mental breakdown? Laugh. It’s called balance.

Husband: “Does Lisinopril make your heart beat less forcefully?” Me: “Nope.” Husband: “I guess I don’t understand how it works then.” Me: *cracks knuckles, grabs large rolling whiteboard, 12-pack of colored dry erase markers, a laser pointer and PP presentation on laptop*
