🇩🇪 Another European country recognises that the criminalisation of women for abortion is out of line with women's rights. Help us decriminalise abortion in England & Wales at bpas.org/timetoact💪 #decriminaliseabortion #abortionrights

Abortions in first 12 weeks should be legalised in Germany, commission expected to say theguardian.com/world/2024/apr…

Thank you @churchofengland who this morning made it clear in @HouseofCommons they do not think women should be criminalised for abortion. NC1 to the Criminal Justice Bill will deliver that change .

📢 #BREAKING we welcome the Church of England's position that women should not be criminalised for having an abortion. @DianaJohnsonMP's amendment focuses only on women who are being increasingly targeted by the current outdated law. Women deserve compassion, not a conviction.

🚨🗞️ BREAKING: The @Telegraph @camillahmturner reports the huge news that Victoria Atkins, the Health Secretary, is supporting @DianaJohnsonMP's abortion amendment. She knows what we know - it's never right to prosecute a desperate woman for ending her own pregnancy. #TimeToAct

A US-based, extreme anti-choice group (ADF) has ramped up lobbying in UK Parliament. ADF was pivotal in the overturning of #RoeVWade and now they're focused on rolling back reproductive health & rights in the UK too. With partners, we're fighting back ⤵️ theguardian.com/world/2024/apr…

"Decriminalise it - there isn't much else to say!" 🙌 The BPAS team hit the streets to ask people people what their message would be to their MPs in the lead up to the vote to decriminalise women for having an abortion. Take a look! P.S. We're on TikTok 👀 #TimeToAct

We're excited that this afternoon, our UK Contraceptive and Sexual Health Nurse Consultant, Simphiwe Sesane, presented at the UK Parliamentary @APPGSRH on the inequalities and barriers that women of colour face when accessing sexual and reproductive healthcare in the UK.

"In the 21st Century, abortion should be most effectively regulated as a healthcare matter" 🗨️ Our Chair @DianaJohnsonMP has tabled an amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill to ensure that no woman faces prosecution or jail time for ending her pregnancy 👇

📣BPAS is proud to support @DianaJohnsonMP 's amendment to end jail time for women who end their own pregnancies. This is the only amendment that will make a real difference to women who often need support, not prosecution under outdated Victorian laws. ⚖️ bpas.org/about-bpas/pre…

We are delighted that women will from next month be able to access the contraceptive pill more easily, via their local pharmacy👇

Thousands of women across England will be able to get the contraceptive pill at their local pharmacy from next month, without needing to speak to a practice nurse or GP first. Find out more about how the NHS is expanding pharmacy services. england.nhs.uk/2023/11/pharma…
