This is just to say: today is my last day at the @PhillyInquirer Next week I'm starting a new career in media strategy/comms. I'm excited, but it's still sinking in! I've spent 20 years in newspapers, almost 14 of those here at my hometown paper. I'm so lucky. I'm so grateful.
Mass transit is a lifeline for Pennsylvanians, but Senate Republicans still refused a deal to fund SEPTA. Now, the Governor may be able to "flex" federal funds to help plug the gap in SEPTA’s budget. I believe we should use any power we have to avoid fare hikes and service cuts.
Trump is gonna pick an interior designer to be Secretary of the Interior isn’t he
It’s going to take time to sort through what happened Tuesday. But I've read a lot of takes the past few days (some good, many bad), and I've had a lot of people ask how I won one of the toughest districts in the country by over 13%. Here are some thoughts: 🧵
Everybody saying “fuck Moo Deng” like she voted for him—god forbid a woman sees society for what it is
Breaking News (to some): What counties are doing now is the exact same process they do for every single election, with bipartisan candidate/party observers present at every single step of the way.
A statement from Secretary Al Schmidt: Throughout the day, the Department has communicated with counties who continue to conduct a secure election where every eligible vote is counted. We estimate there are at least 100,000 ballots remaining to be adjudicated, including…
In 2020 I was one of 7 dems that won a district that Trump won, so I held a series of listening sessions with people who voted for Trump and voted for me to understand their actions. I reread the transcripts yesterday and much of it felt like it could have been said today. THREAD
NH continues to be an interesting state. Voters again gave control of government to the GOP, while the federal delegation continues to be Democratic, and thanks to impressive NH based field operation, was the only "battleground" state to buck the Trump tide. #NHPolitics
Whoah boy. It is fully on in Philly after another decline in Democratic votes >>>
In Jan, 2021 (post 1/6), I commissioned focus groups of NJ Dem voters. What l heard was more than a canary in a coal mine. Dem Gov Murphy re-elect squeaker 10 months later was another massive warning. Tonight is a four alarm fire that NJ party leadership should stop ignoring.
Enormous Trump gains in the most Hispanic NJ counties. Harris ahead clearly by 5 with almost 90% in, but of this holds it’s the closest NJ result since 1992, and down from Biden +16 in ‘20. Here’s 42% Hispanic Passaic County:

Congratulations @AndyKimNJ Great news for the people of NJ.
I am so thrilled that tonight New Jersey has elected Andy Kim to serve alongside me in the Senate. Together we will continue to deliver for the people of this great state. Congratulations Andy!
There is absolutely no truth to this allegation. It is yet another example of disinformation. Voting in Philadelphia has been safe and secure.
We can't track Election Day turnout in real time, so guesses about it are speculation based on anecdotal evidence. Still, there's plenty of that going around. Some Philly officials say turnout is high, and maybe a record. inquirer.com/politics/elect…

The announcement that the Star-Ledger will stop printing obscured the fact that they're simply killing it off. All that was left of the S-L for the past ~10 years was the print copy and a handful of staff. Now they're ceasing printing and laying all the employees off. The end.
There was no partisanship. No disenfranchisement. It has never been easier to vote in Pennsylvania.
