Eighth Judicial Circuit Judges were honored to host a group of International Law students. From defense strategies to family and civil disputes, the students observed real cases and witnessed firsthand the dynamics of justice in action.
Eighth Judicial Circuit Courts will be closed on Monday, November 11, 2024, in observance of Veterans Day. Court will be back in session on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
Alachua County Court Judge Meshon T. Rawls brought her energy and insight to Eastside High School's career day! Judge Rawls sparked curiosity among students, shedding light on the rewarding paths in law and justice for those eager to make a positive impact.
Rawlings Elementary Safety Patrols visited Judge Stephan P. Mickle, Sr. Criminal Courthouse, to learn about the judicial process and meet some amazing civic leaders. It was inspiring to watch these young leaders ask thoughtful questions and engage with local officials.
Magistrate Baker confirmed that Teddy is ready to report for duty. Teddy had a successful day spreading joy and comfort to everyone at the courthouse. It’s amazing how a furry friend can make a tough day a little brighter. 🐕🦺💖🐶💖
Eighth Judicial Circuit Judge Sean Brewer is getting into the Halloween spirit! Handing out candy at the Baker County Courthouse Trunk or Treat must have brought smiles to many faces.
Congratulations to our very own Judge Denise R. Ferrero! Judge Ferrero and other members of the judiciary were recognized today for their Hispanic excellence at the 5th Annual Florida Jurist Watch Party.
Judges Rawls, Ramsey, and Van Vorst attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law Litigator/Mediator Forum and participated as Table Hosts. They facilitated discussions on mediation best practices with lawyers, mediators, and law students at the event.
Chief Judge Mark Moseley, Judge Donna Keim, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones welcomed judges and court administrators from Kazakhstan. This marks the 27th Open World group to explore our courthouses in 25 years!
Judges Brewer, Ferrero, Van Vorst, Walker, Wilson Bullard, and Wright, along with Court Admin staff, enjoyed the PACE Center for Girls Annual Luncheon.
STORM UPDATE: Alachua, Baker, Bradford, Gilchrist, Levy, and Union County courthouses will resume normal operations on Friday, October 11, 2024.

100+ 6th graders packed Alachua County Judge Jonathan Ramsey’s courtroom this morning with some great questions for the Judge, Clerk of Court, State Attorney, and Public Defender. We've got some future legal eagles in the works.
