Even Golang's types will not allow you to go far without automated testing. I tried, but now sitting and writing tests ;-)

Our outfit for Glow Festival in Eindhoven. It's so awesome to be a kid! Every time I hang out with my son, he shares a part of his happiness and excitement with me.

Once you register a business in the Netherlands and your phone number ends up in a business registry... The next day all sorts of scammers are already calling.

Just a casual reminder: don't attack people, attack ideas. Some very good people, have horrible ideas.

If Europeans decide to start investing in innovation. I sincerely hope they will not blow it all on "green energy".

I'm German. 16 years ago, the EU and US economies were neck and neck. Today, the US economy is 50% larger than the entire EU combined. Here's the devastating truth behind Europe's ongoing economic suicide 🧵:

Work in progress, but too excited not to share. The upcoming Ghostty website homepage. Colors are not final. The vibe is final though.

More folks should be using Rails 7 "Strict Locals" when using ERB and partials. - Code clarity - Better maintainability - Performance (deterministic template compilation on boot) guides.rubyonrails.org/action_view_ov…

Who’s in favor of rolling back cookie banners? No one is winning here. That’s a lot of hours.

How not to accelerate. Don't replicate this kind of stupidity in America with an onslaught of absurd AI legislation based on non-existent problems.

Having a today-i-learned folder with small scribbles turned out to be a great study hack. I lot of those scribbles will eventually turn into bigger notes and will get organized in Obsidian.

ASML is paying for a year of Dutch classes. I'm not their employee or anything, just live in the same city. Have to get up at 8 am on Friday. That's a tough thing to pull off :)

Web community has picked new CSS logo. It uses a rebeccapurpe color and 3 rounded corners. There is even a cool story about a known color picked for this logotype. github.com/CSS-Next/logo.…

Nothing OS 3 beta 2 addressed the most annoying bug that prevented me from auto-filling login credentials. Let's get those Photo app settings memorized now! Imagine a mobile phone manufacturer that actually listens to your feedback? Turns out it's possible.

I must admit, I really enjoy doing front-end these days. It's such a cool puzzle to figure out how to implement things with as little JavaScript as possible. Modern CSS is really exciting and not as dreadful as it previously was! Must learn moaar....

Reminder that Google Maps only exists because of one 100-1000x engineer who rewrote all the code in one weekend

wow, Google Maps turns 20 in February. In my opinion, it's probably the greatest digital application ever. The consumer surplus associated with it is just off the charts. googleblog.blogspot.com/2005/02/mappin…
