According to @akanazawa in PAMI-TC meeting @siggraph folks were told by @arxiv to persuade the computer vision community (critical mass) to enable blind submissions in their platform. What are we waiting for? @CVPR @ICCVConference @eccvconf @BMVCconf @wacv_official @ACCVConf

I think the discussion was good! I hope we will have discussion like this about arxiv vs not arxiv. For me that is at the core of this discussion. With arxiv, the double blind review (that we all seem to agree upon) is not really working.

Blaming junior researchers is not helpful with the scale of big conferences @Voxel51 help your cofounder to make a stronger case! provide an interface to assess the reviews... let us know how simple or difficult it turns to be 😛

Some people asked me to make plots for #ICLR2025 Here are some stats of the reviews Disclaimer: I am not serving for ICLR 2025. The numbers keep changing

One thing I really like about #ICLR is that their review data are open to everyone! 🥰 Same as last year, I collected #ICLR2024 review data, modifying my previous script for OpenReview APIv2 Here are the histograms based on 7,331 submissions Hope this helps!🙋

I didn't delegate the figures of my papers until my 3-4 years of PhD. Did I? The outcome was that a member of my PhD committee highlighted that the figures of my PhD thesis were sound & clear. So, I feel entitled to request 💰!!! cc @jcniebles @BernardSGhanem @kate_saenko_

how much u pay?

Companie doubling up in robotics vs agents are the ones that any PhD should go for I believe in both. I even wrote it in my outdated webpage in 2019. But, when everyone is walking the bandwagon a genuine researcher should stop as ask...

A big dream in AI is to create world models of sufficient quality that you can train agents within them. Classic simulators lack visual diversity and realism. GenAI lacks physical accuarcy. But combining the two can work pretty well! paper: arxiv.org/abs/2411.00083

I recently learned that some companies are adding "Must have published papers in XYZ conference" where XYZ is something like CVPR, ICLR, NeurIPS, etc. PLEASE STOP. Not only is published XYZ work mostly irrelevant to the actual work they'll be doing at your company, it's not…

I like this framing as us « growing » the models like plants. Arch=scaffold, loss=sun. But dear @ch402 did the same mistake as everyone: somehow only mentioning arch and loss (sexy) but not even saying "data" (boring) once. Data is most important now, let’s call it the soil?

Their breakthrough was realizing: We don't program AI, we grow it (@ch402). Like biology evolving complex systems: • We create the scaffold • We create the light • But the system grows itself This led to a shocking discovery:

Qwen2.5-coder is a game changer for secure, private, and local code development in VSCode 🤩 We've been testing the latest @Alibaba_Qwen models running locally in VSCode through @ollama and @codegptAI, and the results are incredible I highly recommend downloading and trying out…

VCs leaving AI back to crypto

❤️‍🔥

6 years ago, in the days of GAN art, I wrote an article called "Can Computers Create Art?", arguing that computers should not be considered artists, regardless of how good image generation gets. Over on B***s***, I've posted a thread about how my views have and have not changed.

About to submit your #CVPR2025 submission? Verify that a last minute LaTeX compile didn’t push your paper past the 8 page limit (excluding references). Violations will be desk rejected 🥺

I am increasingly excited that robotics and manipulation, in particular is enjoying the attention of broader AI community. @JitendraMalikCV said this "Robotics is far too important to be left to roboticists" @corl_conf has increasingly become the intellectual home to folks not…

Lots of memorable quotes from @JitendraMalikCV at CoRL, the most significant one of course is: “I believe that Physical Intelligence is essential to AI” :) I did warn you Jitendra that out of context quotes are fair game. Some liberties taken wrt capitalization.

My favorite from @JitendraMalikCV @ keynote panel “I strongly pushed for robot learning benchmarks initially. I thought the field was wrong for not having one I’ve done some robotics now. Unlike Vision benchmark, robotics ones are not obvious, or easy. I accept I was wrong”
