Masjid al-Haram in the 90s. The lack of towering structures ensured an open and serene atmosphere, allowing pilgrims to focus solely on their worship and spiritual connection without the distractions of a modern cityscape.

a 90s view of the Haram shown through those toy cameras as kids is what is etched into people’s hearts & not an aesthetic skyscraper filled skyline shown on an insta story

The irony is that a lot of African muslim anti-colonial resistance was led by sufis, but somehow sufis are the milder version of muslim to these people?

I will die on this hill The fact that alimiyya is being promoted as some blanket course for everyone regardless of ability & level is so detrimental And as a result the value we place on actual qualified scholars has decreased

Madrasahs in the UK are all (unintentionally) trying to water down ilm than ensuring the quality of it. As soon as a teen is done with maktab they're pushed and promoted to applying for aalimiyyah when half of them have no interest in scholarship. /1

A lot people are applying for aalimyyah programmes without actually understanding what this course entails. Many drop out after a year or 2 because they realise it's not actually learning or strengthening the basics. If you want to strengthen your basic and learn Arabic ↓

We are in a time of limitless knowledge, yet there is an absence of wisdom among our people. Knowledge used to be a force. It now washes over us without even the slightest impact on our intellect. How far we’ve fallen from the time of our Scholars centuries ago.

Someone give me the urge to live after starting to study the matrix that they call mantiq ..
