Nov. 15, 1924: Inventor Stanley Hiller, a pioneer of helicopters, is born in San Francisco. His "Hillercopter," which he demonstrated at 19, was the first copter with a coaxial system, or two sets of blades turning in opposite directions. He later became a venture capitalist.
