a few months ago robinhood sent me a gold credit card with extremely high-quality details. i thought it was a ridiculous marketing stunt at the time but now it’s an example i give when talking about great design.

The apparent "philosophical problems" of quantum mechanics are not unique to QM at all: they are in fact the same problems that arise whenever one attempts to construct an abstract model of reality. We can see these problems already in high school-level mechanics. (1/14)

A pretty good metaphor for an investing life: A perpetual climbing of stairs — under the threat of being crushed at any moment. Have a bright and chilling Sunday, PM friends.

A good reminder to not look at credentials.

Has anyone ever failed upwards more than Paul Krugman? Wrong about the internet. Wrong about Bitcoin. People like him are why mainstream media became legacy media.

One of the signs of a company still run by the founder. Few hired CEOs would have the confidence to admit problems publicly like this.

It's mind blowing to me how small the 'scene' is. It's the same faces globally - from Art Basel to F1 to Paris Fashion Week to Ibiza to Amfar to Yacht Week to Grammys to... (list can go on)

Society has used labels for generations as a sorting function to ask if a person’s point of view is credible and how to weigh it against other points of view. Other labels also exist: Nobel laureate, Harvard grad, Columbia Law School grad, Partner Covington & Burling etc etc.…

I’m tired of the word “billionaire”. And even more tired of them. And tired of the increasingly accepted notion that they have some special skills or insights simply because they know how to legitimately/illegitimately accumulate money. They ain’t all that.

Behind every great product there’s at least one engineer who knows the entire stack, takes problems personally, and jumps in and solves them. Without regard to ownership, credit, or chain of command. If you don’t know who this is in your company, I have bad news for you…

Please listen to the following options as our menu may have changed. Fuck that. Fuck all the incompetency. Half of corporate America is so clownish, and so full of followers, they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Paypal beta testing a fucking change to their color…
