The number of flights is mind boggling Especially during the climate crisis

Yesterday was the busiest day for commercial aviation that we’ve ever tracked. We tracked 134,386 commercial flights on 6 July and today is shaping up to be another busy day. More than 20,000 flights are in the air right now.

One of the hardest things for me is knowing how crazy hot it’s getting, record ice melt and ocean temperatures and off-the-charts heat waves, and hearing all the airplanes still flying overhead. We must start treating this as an emergency.

We agree, @POTUS That's why you should declare a climate emergency.

CLIMATE CRISIS: Here is where we stand now after all of these historic milestones. What do you think? (note: CO2 on X axis, years on Y axis, and global temps as colors)

UN Secretary-General @AntonioGuterres is clear on what we have to do to address #globalwarming. It starts at #COP28. Tell President Biden we need a COP president who'll fight to end fossil fuels – not protect the industry. Sign the petition now! bit.ly/No2Oil

DON'T LOOK UP, LOOK DOWN to Antarctica. While we all have been looking at the North Atlantic sea temperatures this week, what's happening with sea ice in Antarctica is even more dramatic and well below anything ever recorded for this date during this period of record.

Yes, you read that right. #CO2 levels are the highest they’ve been in 4 MILLION YEARS, and it’s literally making us sick. A #justtransition to #cleanenergy and away from #fossilfuels is just what the doctor ordered! #ActOnClimate #LeadOnClimate

Heat the water - lower the oxygen levels - millions of fish die. Billions rely of the seas for their main source of food.

this totally seems like the ocean ecosystem is functioning as it should and is in no way a warming to humans about any problems we can confidently book our next ocean cruise as all will be well

I'm STILL healing. Healing from it all. I am healing from the mistakes I made in the past. From.. family issues, friendship issues, from failing myself, from disappointments, and from expectations I couldn't reach because I was too focused on the wrong things. Also healing from -

I am sorry, but I need to start muting climate activists and scientists who regularly give the time of day to climate deniers. We do not have any more time to putter around with the proudly illiterate. It is beyond time to advance the climate conversation.
