50 years ago today, Sept. 20, 1973: Singer-songwriter Jim Croce and 5 others were killed when their chartered plane crashed during takeoff in Natchitoches, Louisiana. The native Pennsylvanian is commemorated with a historical marker erected at his former home in Lyndell in 2022.
