Two points about the India-Canada row One, countries having covert ops is nothing new. States pursuing their enemies beyond their borders is nothing new. I am neither normalising or justifying it. I am just stating the fact--whether we like it or not. We have examples of…
In a poor country, poor people are charged for being so poor that they cannot even maintain a meagre amount as minimum balance in their account. But Indians can breathe a sigh of relief because there are imaginary icecreams of vande bharats, derailing trains and breaking bridges
I hate predictions because we don’t know what is to happen next. But given the present there are solid incentives for the rulers in Tehran to take Iran nuclear. I think they will do everything they can do, as fast as they can do, to make Iran a nuclear threshold state.
Delighted to get my review of Michael A. McDevitt's China as a Twenty-first-century Naval Power: Theory, Practice, and Implications published in @Sage_Publishing 's Journal of Asian Security and International Affairs. journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/23…

"Is Biden holding dialogue with Trump? If Biden sits with Trump for dialogue, then I will hold the dialogue with the opposition," #Bangladesh PM #SheikhHasina, on the US Ambassador's call to hold dialogue with the opposition.
Here’s the ugly truth: China wants the Israel & Ukraine wars to last as long as possible to deplete U.S. military capacity before invading Taiwan.
Woke up a little late today to find this published. My thoughts on #Udbhav
It was indeed a pleasure to be back in my school talking about what I learnt from there. #WestAsia
We had a wonderful, houseful session on a festive weekend with a cricket match, featuring Dr. @johnstanly who delivered a masterclass on West Asia's geopolitics! 🪁🪴🍁
Open to everyone: 1st Nov, 11 AM. Come for a masterful exposition by @RRajagopalanJNU; yours truly also has a cameo part, though! 🪁
For our next session, we will be discussing @Lib_Civ's 'An Unwritten Future: Realism and Uncertainty in World Politics' on 1st Nov (11 - 1), room 344, SIS 2. Looking forward to your active participation in what is sure to be an energetic event!
Will be in JNU on Sunday. For me, it's homecoming :)
We look forward to hosting @johnstanly for what promises to be an exciting session! Open to everyone. 🪻🪁
Save constitution, what? First, it's an interim order. Second, how a big house at Pandara Road can save the constitution?
#WATCH | AAP MP Raghav Chadha says, "I want to thank the Delhi High Court from the bottom of my heart for setting aside a lower court order related to my government bungalow and giving its verdict in favour of me and justice...This is not a fight for home or shop but to save the…
#Caste survey challenges the passive and ineffective apparatus of the #socialjustice institutions. It disturbs the conventional ruling elites, allowing the #EBCs to start new political and social movement. #Dalit #Bahujan #OBC #Bihar -my report. deccanherald.com/india/caste-re…
So #Russia is occupying parts of #Ukraine. The collective West is backing Ukraine with military supplies, training & economic aid to fight the Russians. Israel has been occupying the Palestinian territories for decades,& the collective West is backing #Israel's 'right to defend'.
Bihar caste census Extremely backward classes — 36% Backward classes — 27% Schedule castes — 19% Upper castes — 15.5% Scheduled Tribes — 1.8% Why does 15.5% of the population have 50% quota? #BiharCasteCensus #CasteCensus
Should India hold back on ties with the US so as not to provoke China? I discussed this with @ShivshankaMenon & @VijayGokhale59 on the 1st episode of the Global India podcast... Audio: pod.link/1707062316 Video: youtube.com/watch?v=RoU_PI… Transcript: brookings.edu/articles/a-big…
I don't know if you meant it in good humour, but this is a great initiative by the Indian Govt. And Qutub Minar is 'no sasta' anything. It has incredible historical & cultural value, unique in its own ways, and an engineering marvel of its times!
