Dr Fizz drinks a lot… and when he says that ‘a favourite of mine has improved further’ I take note…. And we share his view here with this Amphora aged Mandó blend from Valencia from @cellerdelroure …. It’s a longtime favourite here. Thank you @Wilsononwine @IrishTimes

Leslie @LesliesWineFood writes a nice piece on textured whites in the @irishexaminer and highlights a wonderful Aligogé from Sylvain Pataille who in my opinion is one of the leading producers of this varietal and indeed of Marsannay wine. Thank you Leslie

Xurxu (pronounced Churchill) from Albamar has invested in planting new vines in granite sand facing directly into the ocean . I can only begin to imagine how these wines will be flavoured

As @JulieDupouy1 says ‘experience the mysterious’ in an article on Biodynamic wines in @TheGlossMag . While there is certainly a little in the philosophy that steps outside convention, there is no substitute for the commitment to biodiversity. Great wines selected by Julie

A fascinating tasting at Celler Pardas with Ramon and Mitjons (the beautiful dog). The 2010 Pur Xarel.lo shows just how age worthy this variety is. Absolutely crystalline at 13 years old; mouth-coating, fluid and delicately nutty. If I close my eyes, I'm in Meursault.

Telmo Rodriguez shared his vision for the future of wine making in Rioja . We tasted the first vintage of his single vineyard wines where the focus is on terroir and the growers rather than the aging process. The wines are really impressive. @TelmoRodriguez_ @vinostito

Really interesting piece in the @TheGlossMag this morning. Thank you @JulieDupouy1 . The reason we love these wines is their unique style and the use of varietals not commonly known, Listan Negro , and Callet in Mallorca @Suertesmarques @4kilosvinicola @Enrico9405

Great tasting today of Pranzegg wines from the northern mountainous region of Alto Adige in Italy. It’s here that the grape Schiava is making a comeback against the international varietals . @vinostito @Rafa_Salazar_

Just tasted the Oltretorrente Bianco from Piedmont. Really different and quite delicious, it’s textured and a little oily …. A blend of Timorasso , Favorita and Cortese aged in stainless steel. #organicwine #64winecares @vinostito

Really impressed with this new wine from Jumilla. 85% Monastrell , biodynamically grown at altitudes of over 800 metres, aged in amphora and old barrel. ‘Some of the most exciting wines in the region’ said Luis Gutierrez of @AdvocateWine Bodega Cerrón.

Forever I have struggled with the wines of St Peray , either too rich or way too dear. Well we found one at last. 90% Roussanne ( the rest Marsanne) grown sustainably on granite slopes. Brilliant… notes of honeysuckle and stone fruit but defined by its energy…..

💥 boom……we’ll Dr Fizz we apologise…….You recommended this in May 2019 @IrishTimesLife saying ‘ pristine fresh peach and zingy lemon zest’ ….. it’s taken us this long …. and it was our loss. @Enrico9405 loves it too…… a dry Mosel Riesling with 11.5% ABV and very low SO2
