10/30/24 2:30 PM Swatting Incident Update: The Police Department received a call that a man outside with a gun. Police have searched the area and no such person was located. A search of the school determined that no threat existed.


Police have received what is believed to be a swatting call at St. Joseph High School. Out of an abundance of caution, the school is currently in lockdown and officers are presently checking the facility. There is no immediate threat to students or the public.


9-1-1 services in Trumbull are currently working. Please only call 9-1-1 in an emergency.

TPD arrested 2 teens wanted for car theft on 5/28/23. They were seen inside the Target store in the Trumbull Mall, but the teens fled on foot when officers closed in. They were later seen exiting in a 2019 Hyundai Tucson that had been stolen from West Haven earlier in the day.


On 5/29/23, TPD arrested a teen after he was observed running from the scene where a gun was fired inside of the Trumbull Mall after a dispute occurred. A 15 year old male from Bridgeport, was apprehended and arrested for his involvement in this incident. trumbull-ct.gov/CivicAlerts.as…


TPD apprehend 1 juvenile suspect running from the mall following the gunshot on 5/29/23 & continue to track down the 2nd suspect. TPD obtained evidence / following leads to identify & apprehend others involved. The gun has not been recovered. Active investigation, more to follow.


TPD responded to the Trumbull Mall at 6:30 PM for a report of a gunshot. 2 teens were being escorted out when 1 dropped a handgun which discharged, firing 1 shot into the ceiling. The teens fled on foot. No injuries. Police are searching the area suspects. More info soon.


We urge everyone to be particularly mindful when it comes to the safety of children, the elderly, and pets which could be deadly when occupying parked an unattended vehicles.
