Today, we announced that the Board is expanding its scope to include #Threads – a Meta app which allows users to share text updates and join public conversations. This is a milestone as it is the first time the Board's review has expanded its scope to a new app.

Today, the Board overturned Meta’s original decision to leave up a post containing false claims about the Holocaust. Meta did not remove this content even after the company changed its policies to explicitly prohibit Holocaust denial, despite human and automated reviews.

Today, the Oversight Board published its first expedited decisions in two cases about the Israel-Hamas conflict. In each case, the Board overturned Meta’s original decision to remove the content but approved its subsequent decision to restore the post with a warning screen.

Today, we announced that the Board will address two cases on the Israel-Hamas conflict on an expedited basis, publishing its decisions as soon as possible but within 30 days. This is the first time the Board has used the expedited review process.

The Oversight Board has overturned Meta’s decision to leave up a video in which Cambodian PM Hun Sen threatens political opponents with violence. Due to the severity of the violation, the Board recommends that Meta suspend Hun Sen’s FB page and IG account for 6 months.
