It's early, but the Harris campaign really does seem to have done remarkably well across the board, considering the swing state overperformances. The only problem is that even the *best* campaign will not win you an election where the base reality is a 6 point swing away.
1) the campaign barely touched brat; it blew up organically after the charli xcx tweet, mainly on tiktok 2) brat was a visual; also 🥥, camo hat etc if anything this was prob the first Dem campaign to rival Trump in terms of generating cultural phenomena, directly or indirectly
Latest numbers: across the seven battleground states, the '20-'24 swing towards Trump was ~3.1 pts. Across the other 43 states (+DC), it was ~6.7 pts. Bottom line: the Harris campaign swam impressively against some very strong underlying currents.
