Rails is like you are given a race car. You just fly. Nothing more consistent than a picture of @dhh himself to illustrate that for my next talk/keynote on Rails and productivity. (Speaking at Mobile World Congress next week.)
Something I like (among many other things) in @palkan_tula's book is its rationale about errors for some situations. For example, validation of an internal model attribute should be strict: true (raises), because its violation means there is a bug in your code you want in your…

Today I ran Turbo C++ 3.0 from 1992 in a DOSBox. It runs instantly, compiles instantly, steps instantly, syntax highlights instantly - even though DOSBox is emulating actual 386 speed. It's crazy how much modern software underdelivers :(
$433M money raised, and a $5.6bn valuation happened. Postman needs to do a lot more than request inspection to justify this. For these numbers to make any sense, they would need to do $1bn+ in ARR for a freaking API client utility... Looking around, there are so many companies…
Uhhhh what happened to Postman? I just want to send, and inspect http requests? What is all this shit?
I like this trend. Nature is healing.
Complaining that testing (in general) slows down software delivery is like complaining that brakes slow down a race car.

The future: AI writes the business plan, AI writes the pitch deck, AI incorporates the company, AI writes the software, AI negotiates the acquisition, AI writes the "our incredible journey" blog post promising commitment to the product, and AI turns the product off a month later.

The best year to take Ruby on Rails seriously was 2004, the second best year is 2023!
Sr Rails devs describe Rails as being the easiest and most productive way to build web apps. Meanwhile @joemasilotti @excid3 & others discuss how we’re losing a generation of Jr Rails devs because its daunting. Can both be true? Here’s my story on how Rails is losing Jrs. 📖👇
No language feels like Ruby to me. Once you've been into it, others look more like formal languages in which you program and can do anything, yes, but with a different level of expressivenes and naturality. #ruby30th
probably a controversial opinion, but if your product shows a product tour when you first sign up, you blew it. make it easier.
Intro to machine learning books make so much sense after you have at least five years of experience in machine learning.
