So glad I have Nick his flowers when he was still here.

It’s opened by for me. Nick, time and again you’ve demonstrated profits don’t drive you. It’s a trait I’m trying to cultivate 🙏🏿

1. Sleep and arise at the same times everyday. Build the pattern. 2. Do the most cognitively challenging tasks right after waking up. 3. Use Kanban; don't work on more than ~2 things at once. Don't be a squirrel. 4. Be a finisher, not a starter. Seldom abandon projects.

@nickrusso42518 I’ve rarely seen anyone so hyper productive. Do you have a secret or is it just discipline?

Fortinet Secure SDWAN is great fun 🤩

Having packet captures handy is the difference between guessing and knowing. I reference these PCAPs regularly in consulting engagements and general troubleshooting. Download many examples from my library for free: njrusmc.net/r/jobaid

A lot of you on here with platforms make it look like you are always working/learning. Be aware that those that look up to you see you as super humans that never take a break. My goal has always been to share the struggle with you all. We have a mental health issue in IT.

Nothing in f/w world like asking a client for source/destination IP & service port but he gives you load of literature minus those two.

Racked two of these in readiness for ACI. Whole body sore. In previous job we brought contractors to rack & wire/power hardware. Not anymore

I appreciate tech Twitter. I went from unemployed bartender in lockdown to software engineer in the last two years, and met some really cool people. I'm not posting fancy threads, and don't collect followers, but if I can, I will help you. Feel free to reach out if I can.

Lead Engineer me: I’m tired of just doing tickets. I want more organizational impact and responsibility, and to tackle hard strategic and human problems! Architect me: you know what sounds really nice right now? A ticket. You can solve a ticket

Been months since I sat my ENARSI and even though I’m deep in preparation for SD-WAN, I’ve gone back to refresh my ENARSI a bit. Retention.

Advice for jr. devs: Interviewing as an engineer is hard, and for many folks takes practice. Learn from each interview you do, and improve on what you learned in each one. Whiteboarding and talking through tech solutions is a skill that takes practice. Be kind to yourself! 💙❤️
