Excited to share my first first-authored publication— Comparing beliefs in falsehoods based on satiric and non-satiric news. A few key findings: (1) doi.org/10.1371/journa…

I was enjoying a paper’s abstract when I noticed it was written by a friend of mine. Then it happened again 2 minutes later. I need to start some Google alerts on y’all!

Thanks for the spotlight! Followers- check out my project where we compare belief in falsehoods from satiric and non-satiric sources.

PhD student @shannonpoulsen is the lead author on a paper with Professor @RKellyGarrett and Associate Professor Robert Bond on interpreting satiric news published in @PLOSONE buff.ly/43oV8cN

An interesting study on news consumption via Twitter being done by MIT; you'll be able to see the slant of who/what you follow: newsconsumption.mit.edu/room/Start

My improviser friend jokingly asked if he could defend my dissertation for me tomorrow. Now I want a show where improvisers confidently defend dissertations they’ve never seen, complete with committee questions. May ask y’all for diss material later to make it happen.

When the work piles up and seems impossible to tackle, I like to remind myself a younger Shannon used to dream of typing fast without looking at the keyboard. At least I’ve met that goal ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Just in case you need it: settings & support > settings & privacy > accessibility display & languages > accessibility > video auto play > select “never” So that videos on your timeline don’t automatically play without your consent
