"A mind-expanding inquiry on anthropology...and on cinema itself." -Manohla Dargis, @nytimes @ernstkarel and @VKusumaryati's EXPEDITION CONTENT is now on @ovidtv ovid.tv/videos/expedit…
DE HUMANI CORPORIS FABRICA (dir. Véréna Paravel, Lucien Castaing-Taylor, 2022) | U.S. Premiere A thrilling new work of nonfiction exploration which uses microscopic cameras and specially designed recording devices to survey the wondrous landscape of the human body. #NYFF60
Assuredly subversive in their approach, @ernstkarel and @VKusumaryati nearly imageless, yet sensorially rich film is a bold attempt to shake cinema out of its formal rigidities. A decidely liberating experience even for the most seasoned moviegoers.

Blending and subverting various cinematic forms, 'Sweetgrass' and 'Leviathan' both see the innovative Harvard Sensory Ethnography Lab working at the height of its powers. Read Bennett Glace's essay from our Best of the 2010s film series here: splittoothmedia.com/sweetgrass-lev…
