Fluids. Seems easy to just prescribe it when you’re asked. Or just some pain meds. But every single clinical decision you make for a patient you dont know, when done in rapid succession one after the other, when you’re tired, carries a synergistic level of risk with every layer.

It feels more hopeless when patients and their families tell us how overworked and underpaid we are. It’s one thing for us to think it. But when patients say it too and are accepting poorer care because they know we have too much on, it makes me so angry at government.
