The growing diversity in L2s shows why Eth's L2 model was a genius move. L2s allow for extensive customization while remaining part of overall Ethereum for security and interop. Ethereum L2s are the best way for the world to come onchain. Nothing else comes close.
BTC is only 15 years old. ETH 9.5 years. Crypto is young. BTC has a looming security budget crisis. The smartest Bitcoiners are trying to replicate Ethereum on Bitcoin. ETH is already better sound money than BTC, and Ethereum's ongoing growth will convince the market.
BTC is better sound money than ETH Solana is a more performant execution environment than Ethereum L1 Celestia is gonna have bigger faster blocks sooner
Extraordinary how bearish @0xBreadguy is on strategic importance and potential of blobs. He's even more bearish in person at this devcon panel than online. He'll have to eat that later. Blobs are going to be hugely important.
Attending a handful of devcon talks on ETH issuance today. I'd like to see an issuance proposal that further reduces inflation (better for everyone and lowers ultrasound barrier), maintains incentives to stake at home, and is credibly the last monetary policy change ever for Eth.
Solana is very far from achieving client diversity (years away, requires three independent production clients). But client diversity is critical for decentralization. Their solution to this problem has been just to lie about it. As does Mert's new report on decentralization:
> Make L1 Great Again The L1 is already great. Eth's L1<>L2s model is winning. Jon's view of "BTC is better sound money than ETH, Solana has better execution, Celestia has more bandwidth" is an incorrect framing of the competitive landscape. Solana and Celestia, while good to…
By the the time Beam Chain ships in ~2029 (if we end up going that route), Eth will be ~100x larger. That's why it's "Beam Chain" and not "Eth 3.0" (there is no Eth 3.0). Ethereum isn't waiting around for some magic 3.0 upgrade that doesn't exist. We are dominating right now.
CEO of EVE Online at Devcon: "Ethereum devs have hacked together functionality in a few hours that traditionally took us years, only possible because of permissionless composability" No use cases 😂
Bitwise acquires elite ETH staking operator Attestant. Staked ETH ETFs are closer than ever. These have significantly better profit margins and that means a bigger incentive for tradfi to promote ETH. news.bloomberglaw.com/mergers-and-ac…
Great devcon panel and panelists. But if you miss it: Yes blobs are good 😂
At Jesse's devcon talk I'm a big fan of Base's strategy to focus on onchain economy as a whole.
Devcon has a Real World Ethereum talk track for the first time. It's been great. Yet, the awesome landscape of apps is clown-car'd into a single track. What would it look like to have a full Real World Ethereum conference that unbundled the app layer into many tracks? I'd go
Reflections on Eth's roadmap The roadmap is imo in a terrific place. It's a mixture of science and pragmatism to support Ethereum's ongoing growth as the global backbone and by far the best public chain institution. At Devcon and when traveling home, I took some time to do a…
Blended is cool, but is anyone actually building? Yes.
