Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity, in all this vastness, there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life.
Spent some time volunteering at the Neighborhood House in Saint Paul this morning as we announced $5 million to fight food insecurity. In Minnesota, we care for our neighbors - and we’re making sure they have what they need this holiday season.
And when we got scrapes and cuts (which happened often), this is what we got. Stung like all hell. No whining allowed.
I was in the ER alone when I was told I had cancer. Had 18 chemotherapy treatments, walked in for a 9hr surgery and 18 immunotherapy treatments all alone. During the pandemic so no one could accompany me. I was so frightened. I'm beyond proud of myself. @ThanksCancer @OvaCare
