Such sad news (again) for cinema goers in Bristol myself included… My thoughts go out to all those affected by the closure and I’m still hoping that @CabotCircus review their decision on increasing the rent… such a loss and so short-sighted 😢

Showcase has just released the following statement: “Showcase Cinemas can confirm that due to our inability to agree terms on a new lease with the landlords, our cinema in Cabot Circus, Bristol will cease trading with effect from the close of business on Thursday 30th November…

Cracker literally changed my life. Legend.

I've written to the UK Statistics Authority regarding @NadineDorries's misrepresentation of official statistics on the ownership of Channel 4. The Secretary of State claimed that 96% of people agree with privatisation. The Government's own consultation says the exact opposite.🤦

I adored this film. Barnard’s finest to date for me. The honesty of the portrayal of the characters and their lives makes the sense of hope so much richer.

“A pair of wonderfully winning performances lie at the heart of this unexpectedly warm and typically compelling drama from writer-director Clio Barnard” @KermodeMovie great review of the excellent and warmly human Ali & Ava - on @wshed now theguardian.com/film/2022/mar/…

Today MPs vote on the Tories' new NHS Bill. It puts private companies on health boards, opens the floodgates to more cronyism & incentivises cuts & closures. It's an NHS Corporate Takeover Bill & a recipe for more privatisation. My amendment rejecting this attack on our NHS:

Do you think @LACinema_ are aware of just how exhausting this could be for U.K. viewers?

This is incredible. A Christmas snowball fight filmed by cinema pioneers the Lumiere bros in France, 1896. It's been colourised and had the speed adjusted.
