Hiked to Social Tunnel on Tomboy road outside Telluride this morning. About 2.7 miles out with an elevation gain of about 1900 feet. Miners worked this area a hundred or so years ago. Elevation is about 11,000 feet here, and it keeps going up. Hard life for miners!

Six or seven years ago I planted red columbine under a tree in the back garden. It did NOTHING! This year, minimal water and care, it comes back in a blaze of glory. Go figure.
