I'll explain the text: she never said that Scorsese HAS NEVER MADE FILM WITH WOMEN, she said that if he makes a film with women she would like to be in it. Speaking in the future. Where do you see the controversy and criticism?

Nicole Kidman on directors she wants to work with next: “I’ve always said I want to work with [Martin] Scorsese, if he does a film with women. I’d love to work with Kathryn Bigelow… Spike Jones… PTA [Paul Thomas Anderson]. I’ve always wanted to work with Michael Haneke.”

Dumbo on twitter: Nicole Kidman is jealous Martin Scorsese never offered her a lead role. Martin Scorsese: Nicole is right, I don't cast women in lead roles in my films.

Kidman saying Scorsese doesn’t make films with women is just her coping with the fact that he’s never offered her a part.

1) this is weird. 2) that’s not what she said. 3) why are you disrespecting her greatness?

Rachel Reposted

I think Kidman has earned enough respect not to be spoken of so dismissively. There are often one or two good secondary female roles in Scorsese’s largely male films, Jodie Foster once observed he rarely invites women back like he does men. It’s not controversial!

Rachel Reposted

men are addicted to being wildly rude about women. over a throw away comment that is factually true by the way, scorsese mostly makes films about men that isn't even controversial, he is the most acclaimed director in the world you don't actually have to run to his defence

Disney doesn't care about LGBT representation Y'all gotta stop pretending that they do

“Get her nowhere” she’s already a millionaire with a room full of acting awards and an amazing filmography. Bro she’s already an icon.

Rachel Reposted

Exactly. This guy’s reading comprehension is absolute garbage 😂😂😂😂😂. She doesnt want to be the female lead. She wants to be THE LEAD. Like if she was the Dicaprio role in Wolf of Wallstreet. Of course Kidman knows he’s made movies with women.

Rachel Reposted

She worked with Kubrick, I think she’s a little qualified to speak on film roles and what she wants to work on lmao.

Rachel Reposted

Side characters and wife characters lmao. Watching men try to mansplain about leading roles for women to Kidman, who has one of the most impressive and diverse filmographies of any working actor, is very funny.

When he asked Ellen Burstyn to star in ADLHA, she told him that based on previous work, she didn’t think he understood women. He agreed w/ her & said that was why he wanted to make the movie. That conversation convinced her to take the role.
