This is true. California gave out billions in unemployment during COVID, much of which was fraudulent. Now businesses are left to pick up the tab. Newsom could have paid off the deficit, but he elected to give out $5 billion in healthcare coverage to illegal immigrants instead.

We just ran payroll. The payroll taxes were 2K higher than calculated. We called the payroll company. They explained (in summary) that California has a budget shortfall, and the federal government wants money back that it lent California for UI that it "lost." They are making up…

Governor Newsom’s political agenda to raise gas prices is a direct attack on struggling Californians, with devastating consequences for our economy. On day 1 of the new legislative session, we will fight these price increases, starting with a bill to repeal the new LCFS…

NEW: A study from USC’s Marshall School of Business reveals that Gavin Newsom’s gas regulations could force Californians to pay nearly 90 cents more per gallon of regular fuel in 2025. This staggering increase includes the recent 65-cent gas price hike, mandates to withhold…

This is @GavinNewsom’s CA - $600-$1000 more per year for every resident with a car. We told you a decision by @AirResources would increase prices. I even introduced a bill to freeze it. I couldn’t even get a hearing in #caleg

NEW: USC professor estimates new CA regulations mean the average resident w/ a gas-powered car "will have to earn an additional $600 to $1,000 a year in pre-tax income in order to 'break even' with 2024 prices, depending on the grade of gas they purchase." files.constantcontact.com/6ddc9aab901/7a…

A court just threw out Newsom’s attempt to stop Huntington Beach from requiring voter ID. Big win for the Coalition for Common Sense.

BFD Alert: California recently banned Voter ID. Charter city Huntington Beach enacted a voter ID requirement via charter amendment in March. California sued to invalidate HB's voter ID requirement. The court sustained HB's demurrer with leave to amend, meaning the case is over…

Gov. Gavin Newsom just snapped up a new Bay Area home: a hidden mansion in the Marin County town of Kentfield, fitted with outdoor sculptures, a guest house, a handful of walk-in closets, and a swimming pool and spa. The governor paid around $9 million — 7% more than the asking…

If any California politician tries to tell you that "we have to transition from fossil fuels," show them what's keeping the lights on. At 4:45 p.m. on November 16, "renewables" can meet less than 20% of the state's demand. Batteries run out by midnight, like Cinderella's mice.

The city of Huntington Beach California passed a law, simply requiring voter ID by amending its charter. @GavinNewsom made the mistake of using taxpayer money to fight them in court. Today, he lost. How much more taxpayer money will Newsom waste trying to fight the people?

As Senate Minority Leader, I've repeatedly tried to reach out to Governor Newsom to work together on several issues ranging from the budget crisis to crime to gas prices. He never responds. He doesn't care about bipartisanship and delivering solutions. He cares about chasing…

Gov. Newsom in D.C. is repeatedly asked why he’s not meeting with Republicans since they’ll have control of funding. “I meet with them everyday because I’m married to one,” he said at the 2:45 mark here. He then laughs and states he has a large Republican family.

ALERT: For the first time since 1992, republicans in California picked up a seat in the state legislature during a presidential cycle. There might be a second seat coming, but that race is still too close to call.

...and we're done here. The blue Imperial County portion of #AD36 updates with another 3,070 votes that Republican Jeff Gonzalez carries by 8.9%, netting him another 272 votes and increasing his lead to 3,575 votes. GOP flip of a majority-Latino VRA district.

Hey @GavinNewsom Here’s some advice for you. Your state is more than broke. We will need lots of federal help, not just for 2 months but for 4 years. Perhaps it wasn’t the best idea to preemptively declare war against a President before his term begins. Work together. Please.

This is good. Gov. Gavin Newsom in DC and just said how he wants California to be “aggressively proactive & not reactive to the incoming Trump administration” and that he is solely focused on delivering on policy. Real leadership here from Gov. Newsom.

If you’re wondering why Newsom took a trip to D.C., it’s because he’s trying to rush environmental waivers through before Trump takes office. He wants to protect the terrible policies he’s signed into law. Namely, his idiotic ban on gas powered cars.
