Can't not comment. The statement of "desynchronization" is correct. The implication that this causes the sense of self is a conjecture not supported by data. The return to baseline is correct. A reset of circuits critical to the sense of self is just conjecture.

Exciting finding from the Michigan Psychedelic Center (M-PsyC)! Single IV bolus of psilocybin durably reduces signs of chronic pain in rats. This study complements the upcoming trial with chronic pain patients conducted by the UM Chronic Pain & Fatigue Research Center and M-PsyC.
