By @OdinRasco and @officialCNM: @sacstate sits on Miwok, Maidu and Nisenan land—but what exactly does that mean? To learn more about land acknowledgments and how they impact Native students, read more here: tinyurl.com/mst39ayx

🎉 CASEWORK WIN 🎉 Alvin, a school crossing guard in Tracy who works every day to keep our kids safe, was trying to get money EDD owed him, but wasn’t getting a response (to no one’s surprise). Our team was able to side step EDD and get Alivin the money that he deserved!

I got advice that to do my job well, I had to work a day in other jobs in the Valley. So, introducing my new favorite thing: Josh on the Job! First up: working the line at Yaffa Hummus. Amazing guys, great food, and a new appreciation for how quick the food industry moves.

Brandon Bailey, 22, died last week. He had just become the first person in his family to graduate college, posting a photo of himself on Instagram in a grad cap and Berkeley sweatshirt, writing “Imma be a legend out of my city just give me some time 💫"💔 berkeleyside.org/2022/07/08/ber…

Such a great person to know and be around. He was one of the hardest-working journalists I’ve met who made everything he did seem so effortless. RIP Brandon.

.@sacstate suffered a great loss in the passing of former State Hornet sports editor and recent graduate Brandon Bailey. His constant dedication and willingness to do the work with no excuses will be a model to his peers forever.

Congratulations to all the Dean’s Awardees. It’s an honor being in the same category with inspiring and trail blazing individuals.
