"The Ontario Association of Radiologists strongly supports the Ontario government's decision to expand access to breast cancer screening by lowering the self-referral age to 40. This important step will connect more women to timely and essential mammogram services, significantly…

In 1988, women in BC were sent a letter when they turned 40 encouraging them to start having mammograms. But that stopped many years ago. Now only about 25% of eligible women 40-49 attend. Time to resume sending those letters! vancouversun.com/news/local-new… via @VancouverSun

Most women in 🇨🇦 are only offered screening every-other- year. So they don’t have the opportunity for detection of their cancers as early as possible.

Odds of late-stage #breastcancer diagnosis double when women put off annual breast cancer screening. healthimaging.com/topics/medical…

For a long time I pinned the language guide here but I learned about this tool kit this morning for addressing #lungcancer stigma. Including context, images, as well as language makes it easy to apply across various media. nlcrt.org/lcs-cat/

Please stop spending what I presume to be tax payers $ to run these campaigns of misinformation that are contributing to later staged cancer diagnoses. #cdnpoli #screen40 #40not50

In the US, women with cancer who have dense breasts have MRIs. In 🇨🇦, many women whose cancers were missed on their mammograms, are still told that all they need for surveillance is a mammogram.

I found the tumour myself in April 2023 after receiving 'normal' mammo results in March. My breasts are category C density - still not a priority for supplemental screening in Manitoba, even after diagnosis. Keep up with Breast Self Exams! #mbpoli

Watch me have my mammogram in real time. It’s not as scary as you think. In some parts of the UK only 1/3 women are going for their screening. What can we do to raise awareness? @BreastCancerNow @lorraine @loosewomen

This doesn't surprise me at all based on the amount of requests I get weekly to speak to newly diagnosed patients. This is extremely concerning and why we need earlier screenings. @markhollandlib @YaaraSaks @lisahepfner #cdnpoli #screen40 #40not50
